Encouraging Performance by ACRL | ||
|
Ambuja Cement Rajasthan Limited, (ACRL) an associate of Gujarat Ambuja Cements Limited, has performed well during the first quarter of the financial year ending 30th June, 2003 despite a drop in realisation by over 9%. Cement prices in Rajasthan, Delhi and other markets were very low during the quarter. ACRL sold 4.06 lac tonnes of cement as against 3.36 lac tonnes of cement in the corresponding quarter of the previous year, an increase of 21%. Turnover in the first quarter is up 10% to Rs. 66.57 crores as against Rs. 60.58 crores in the first quarter of the previous year. Operating Profit is up by 11% at Rs. 12.65 as against Rs. 11.40 crores as compared to the same quarter of the previous year. Interest cost has been reduced by 14% to Rs. 9.61 crores as against Rs. 11.22 crores which has helped ACRL to earn a Cash Profit of Rs. 3.04 crores as against Rs. 0.18 crores in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. After charging depreciation of Rs. 6.37 crores (Rs.6.37crores in the previous year) the loss for the year is lower at Rs.3.33 crores as against Rs. 6.19 crores . | ||
